From the Runway to Rekucci: Spring's Top Trends

By far, one of the biggest colors popping up for Spring 2021 is Bubblegum Pink. Seen all over the runways, this bright punch of color is a refreshing change from the neutral and muted greys and beige of Winter. Other colors being introduced into Spring fashion are just as feminine and attention-grabbing, like Cotton Candy Blue, Watermelon Green and Sorbet Orange.

Rekucci has incorporated some of these colors into our Spring collection of shorts, capris, skirts and tops. Can anyone say YUMMY MUMMY?!

Showing some skin (modestly of course) feels like a much-needed requirement after wearing our baggy sweats and pyjamas for months on end! One of the most iconic pieces of New Millenial Style is being showcased on the runways for Spring: the Mini-skirt. Flared or fitted, pleated or ribbed, the mini-skirt is once again getting its moment in the spotlight.

The mini-skirt has been a sign of female liberation since the 1960s, and this season we are all definitely warming up to the idea. For a more modest and chic approach, Rekucci has the Classic 19 inch Pencil Skirt, as well as the Fit-and-Flare Skirt with Wide Waistband.

A restricted 2020=Liberation of the Leg for 2021!

I think we've all reached the point of wanting to ditch our leggings and yoga pants for more practical, and stylish attire. Well my friends: comfort doesn't mean style has to be compromised, nor the fit. The abundance of statement trousers on the runway is indication that Spring is the awakening of the pant. From roomy to wide-leg, high-waisted to belted, pleated to pintucked, the pant has never looked so good.

Rekucci has the perfect, affordable option for you: The Work  Pant with Real Pockets! This pleated pant with drawstring waist comes in 4 different colors, and is soooo comfy you will be wearing them to work and to Sunday brunch.

Flowers, which signify new beginnings, were popping up EVERYWHERE on the runway, a tried-and-true staple for any Spring collection. Whether it be bold rose patterns, or dainty chintz florals, this spring pattern brings whimsy and romance to your wardrobe, and will dress up any outfit.

Rekucci has incorporated bright, feminine floral prints in our Dresses, Camisoles and Skirts. As Christian Dior once said, "Flowers, after women, are the most divine creations."

The 70s Influence is prevalent this Spring in Fashion, and a great interpretation is the new color pairing  for Neutrals: Yellow and Camel. Mixing and matching these colors adds depth and dimension to any outfit, and will instantly make you feel more chic. The subtle yet flattering combination of these 2 colors works well on every skin type, and is a fresh change to the monochromatic pairing of black and white we saw this past Winter.

Rekucci has been incorporating Camel for years into our designs, and it is a very popular color for pants in  Spring and Summer. Yellow can be found in our Boleros, Tops and printed Dresses. *Color suggestion: if you are fair skintone, look for warm, jewel-tone Yellows and if you are Dark skintone a Pastel Yellow will work best.

Chances are this year you are still working from home, or working outside the norms and confines of a cubicle. Suiting and tailoring as an overall product category has had to shift perspectives during this past year, and for Spring this means more casual silhouettes were slinking down the runway.

The catwalks of New York,  Paris and Milan were filled with relaxed trousers, slouchy blazers and un-tucked shirts and blouses. Rekucci has a more polished and practical approach, with our draped cardigans, cowlneck tops, and pull-on dress pants. We want to help you transition from remote working to social-distancing soirees!

Spring 2021 is another season for you to shine wearing Rekucci, so happy shopping everyone!
